PIA Register collects engineer registration details to operate a searchable public directory for Openreach Physical Infrastructure Access work. Directory visitors who use the contact form provide their name, email address and message so the selected engineer can reply.

Data We Collect

Registered engineers provide full legal name, email address, full address, postcode, date of birth, current work status, open-to-work availability, selected PIA certifications, certificate evidence files, and consent records. A public home town or district is derived from the submitted postcode.

Public Data

The public directory shows only full legal name, postcode-derived home town or district, current work status, open-to-work availability and selected PIA certifications. Radius search uses postcode coordinates to calculate approximate distance bands, but exact address, postcode, precise distance, date of birth and email address are not returned by the public API. Contact form messages are sent by server-side email relay without showing the engineer's email address to the visitor.

How Data Is Used

Private registration data and certificate evidence are stored to review submissions, maintain the directory, support account and consent records, prevent duplicate submissions, and help resolve data requests.

Processors

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and uses Cloudflare D1 for database storage. Cloudflare Turnstile is used to protect registration and contact forms from abuse. Postcode lookups are sent to postcodes.io to validate UK postcodes and calculate approximate coordinates for radius search. Contact form emails are sent through SMTP2GO.

Retention And Rights

Engineers can request correction or removal of their listing by emailing [email protected]. Requests will be reviewed against any legal or operational need to retain consent records.
